Dept. of Accounting, USJP signs MOU with Hatton National Bank (HNB)

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between the Department of Accounting, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and the Hatton National Bank (HNB) on the 16th of August 2018 at the Vice Chancellor’s Office. Prof. Sampath Amaratunge, Vice Chancellor of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Dr. Anura U Kumara, Dean of the Faculty of Managment Studies and Commerce, Dr. A. Harendra N. Kariyawasam, Head of the Department of Accounting, academic members of the respective Department and representatives from the Hatton National Bank participated in the MOU signing event.

The MoU that was initially signed for a period of three years, will provide internship opportunities for the third and fourth-year students of the Department of Accounting. Further, HNB has focused on conducting introductory sessions annually for second-year students prior to the commencement of the internship, and workshops to develop the soft skills of students. While recourses of HNB will be available for the students of the Department of Accounting, Department will provide resource personnel to assist their academic and research pursuits.
