APA Beach Cleaning Project
With the purpose of promoting “Green Concept” in the society, the Association of Public Administration (APA) initiated a CSR project of beach cleaning in Dehiwela Mount Lavinia area on 10th August 2018 with the participation of all the students, the academic and non-academic staff members of the Department of Public Administration. That urban coastal area was highly polluted with plastic, polythene, broken glass bottles, papers, wooden and sharp objects. Students collected those pollutants into garbage bags and were handed over to the Dehiwela Mount Lavinia Municipal Council for transportation to the dumping sites. Further, this task was supported by the Alumni Association of Public Administration, Dehiwela Environmental Police Unit and TV Derana.
