The Awarding Ceremony of Skill Development Programme

The Department of Business Economics organised a five day Residential Workshop from 1st to 6th of January 2016 on Personality and Skill Development under the Department Study Skill Development Programme. The third year undergraduates of the Department of Business Economics participated at the programme which was held within the university premises. The purpose of this endeavour was to expose the students to experiential learning. The programme consisted of study skills, physical training sessions, team building exercises, confidence building exercises and many other important skill elements. The resource personnel were sourced from many outside organisations to blend their expertise in to the programme including St. Johns Services, Sri Lanka Military and National trainers and coaches.

The Awarding Ceremony of the workshop was successfully held on 28th of March 2016 at the Board Room of the Faculty of Management Studies & Commerce with the participation of the Vice Chancellor Prof. Sampath Amaratunge, Dean of the faculty Dr. U Anura Kumara, Head of the department, Dr. Sumudu Perera, panel of lecturers of the department and all the resource personals of the residential workshop. Fifty one (51) undergraduates who successfully completed the course were awarded at the ceremony.

The programme was highly commended by everyone including the officials from the university and other external parties who were involved in the programme as guests and also by the awardees as the learning exposure was of high standard.
