1st Annual Conference on Business Economics

he 1st Annual Conference on Business Economics was held at the Old Faculty Board Room, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce (FMSC) on 14th February 2020. The Keynote Speaker for the event was Dr. Lalith Weragoda, who is the first Ph.D. holder from the FMSC. Dr. Weragoda was the Head of Human Resources, Sampath Bank PLC and currently the Group Learning Officer, Sampath Bank PLC. Delegates from the corporate sector, officers from the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, Senior Prof. Sudantha Liyanage (Acting Vice Chancellor of the University), Dr. U. Anura Kumara (Dean of the FMSC), academic staff, alumni members and undergraduates of the Department graced the event with their presence.
Twenty seven (27) selected abstracts of the graduates were presented at the conference and were published in the proceedings of the conference.
