Debate on Budget Proposals 2017

Department of Business Economics has scheduled various types of continuous assessments to evaluate the student performance for the course module BEC 2340: Macroeconomics. Accordingly, the first assignment was a debate on the ‘Budget Proposals – 2017 of Sri Lanka’.

The course is received by 11 departments in the faculty and the department conducts lectures in seven groups. Thereby, seven debate sessions were taken place under two debate motions; “Shrinking Government Size in Sri Lanka- facilitates or hinders Economic Growth?” and “Is Government Revenue Policy proposed in the 2017 Budget Effective?”

The debate sessions were successfully held on 16th of March 2017 at the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce. Mr. Janka Fernando-Subject Coordinator, Mrs. Priyantha Lalanie-Senior Lecturer, Dr. Kumuduni Sriyalatha-Senior Lecturer, Mrs. Harini Amarasinghe, Lecturer and Ms. Ishari Madukala-Lecturer provided their service in the evaluation panels.
