‘Fostering the Blooms’ Community Development Project

‘Fostering the Blooms’ Community Development Project

‘Fostering the Bloom’ is a community development project implemented under the BEC 3324: Project Management course offered by the Department of Business Economics. This was implemented by third year undergraduates of the Department of Business Administration with the aim of upgrading the infrastructure of the WP/Mathu/Lihiniyawa Junior School in Kaluthara District. After a participatory planning session, the students identified that the main hall of the school is opened and uncovered which is the only location to hold functions of the school. Due to the openness, anyone could enter the school and during rainy days also the students have faced a lot of difficulties. By considering this situation, the students fitted drills and doors around the hall and to colour wash the hall.
