Ms. Udeshika Chandrarathne: Best Student of the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce in 2017

Ms. Udeshika Chandrarathne of the Department of Business Economics was awarded “the Venerable Prof. Walpola Sri Rahula Maha Thero Memorial Gold Medal” for being the Best Student of the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce for the year 2017 at the 44th Convocation of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura which was held on the 7th September 2018 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall, Colombo. This award is presented to the most outstanding graduate in terms of both academic and extra-curricular performance who is selected from the 15 highest Great Point Average (GPA) obtained students of the faculty. Ms. Udeshika was the highest GPA obtained student and she has extended her contribution in many projects as the Secretary for the Business Economics Students’ Association (BIZCON) during 2016 and as an Executive Committee Member of BIZCON in 2015 and 2017. In 2017, she represented Sri Lanka at the South Asian Economics Students’ Meet (SAESM) held in Nepal. Additionally, she was the recipient of the NIBM Gold Medal which is awarded to the highest GPA obtained student of the Department of Business Economics.
