International Conference on Real Estate Management and Valuation – ICREMV 2017, themed on “SMART Real Estate; Towards Unmet Socio-Economic Needs”, held on 31st October 2017 at Hilton Colombo Residence, with a participation of 240 number, which was organized by the Department of Estate Management and Valuation (DEMV), Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce (FMSC), University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka.
Government Valuation Department (SL), Institute of Valuers (SL) RICS Sri Lanka Members Association, Urban Development Authority (SL) and the Colombo Municipal Council were joined as collaborative partners. The conference was chaired by Professor KGPK Weerakoon of DEMV.
Professor Deborah Susan Levy, Head, Department of Property, Faculty of Business and Economics, University of Auckland, New Zealand, joined as the Keynote speaker while Dr I H K Mahnama Secretary Ministry of Lands and Parliamentary Reforms was the Chief Guest of the conference.
The conference day plan was enriched with an Inauguration Ceremony, three Technical Sessions, a Poster Presentation presented by DEMV final year students on their research findings, and an Industry Forum followed by the Merit Award and Scholarship Awarding Ceremony.
This is a landmark event of Department of Estate Management and Valuation, turning to a new episode for dissemination of knowledge on research findings in the field of Real Estate and will continue as an annual event of Research and Professional Development Center of DEMV.
