Site visit to the Dialog Axiata 10K Internet Data Center and Dialog TV Media Hub

The Third Year Students of the Department of Information Technology participated in a site visit to the Dialog Axiata 10K Internet Data Center and Dialog TV Media Hub on the 26th of February 2020 and 02nd March 2020 (Two Groups). The Internet data center, located in Kaduwela is Sri Lanka’s first Tier III Certified Datacenter.

In total, 43 Students and 08 Staff Members joined in the visit which was organized by Dr. K.S. Lasith Gunawardena (Coordinator ITC 3352 Subject) with the assistance of Mr. Chandika Witharana, Mr. Kavinga Priyasad, Mr. Prabhasara Athurupana, Ms. Buddhi Wettasinghe, Ms. Samudi Abeysooriya and Ms. Dilinika Lakrandi from the Department of Information Technology.

The visit was arranged by Mr. Sahan Weerasinghe, Product Head (Datacenter & Cloud) on behalf of Dialog Axiata. Mr. Rumesh De Silva – DC Site Owner and Mr. Dharshitha Samarakoon – Manager: Dialog TV Network Operations provided valuable insights to the participants through introductory presentations as well as the guided site visit of the state of art facility.
