Research Clusters

The department has established four research clusters as the cornerstones of research activities in the department.


Cluster 1: IT, Strategy and Organization

To create wealth, organizations continuously adopt emerging information technologies and thus IT and IT-enabled organizational innovations continue across all organizational functions as well as all industry sectors. Successful technological transformation requires a new set of strategy, leadership and governance. Organizations need continues adoption of new strategies and both business and IT/IS strategies should also be well aligned to support the overall organizational vision. Therefore, it is not only changing the way we perceive IS and its potentials, but also the way the potentials are realized. The aim of this cluster is to create a forum to share the research ideas in IT, Strategy and organizational area.


Cluster 2: eLearnning and Learning Technologies

The research area of eLearnning and learning technologies focuses on the investigation and development of technology enhanced learning and education which includes aspects of electronic teaching and learning (e-learning). Today, Mobile learning (mLearning) is also seen as a special branch of e-learning in this context. This research area requires an integrative approach of technology, learning and teaching methodologies. It also covers the whole spectrum of individual and cooperative learning, different learning types, styles, and situations.

Cluster 3: eHealth and health information management 

Health information management is an emerging research area that study the effective uses of biomedical data, information, and knowledge for scientific inquiry motivated by efforts to improve human health. Health informatics is generally concerned with informatics challenges in the clinical and public health domains. Innovative research relies increasingly on effective integration of data, information, and knowledge at multiple scales.
