Keeping up with the tradition – නාද 2016

Marking another milestone, the Students’ Association of Finance (SAF) staged NADA 2016 for the seventh consecutive year on 01st September 2016 at Sri Sumangala Building Reading Hall, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, attracting a grander audience of more than 5,000. This extraordinary event was organized in conjunction with the celebration of fifteen years of jubilant legacy of the Department of Finance.

Prof. Sampath Amaratunge, Vice Chancellor of University of Sri Jayewardenepura, extended his heartiest blessings for the success of the event. Dr. Anura Kumara, the Dean of the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce together with the Deans of the Faculty of Medical Sciences and the Faculty of Humanities and Social studies, Prof. D. B. P.H Dissabandara, Head of the Department of Finance together with the Heads of Department of Accountancy and Department of Marketing and other academic and non-academic staff members of the University grace the occasion with their invaluable participation.

The event was an absolute success with a houseful of audience with full of cheer and echoes of applauds throughout the event. Due to the limited hall capacity, to facilitate the massive audience, this time Department of Finance was able to screen NADA 2016 live outside the premises

Commemorating the success of the Department, NADA 2016 was staged showcasing the aesthetics talents of the blooming buds of the Department together with other Departments and Faculties. NADA 2016 was enlightened by the performance of two eminent public personalities in the musical industry; Mr. Predeep Rathnayake, Head, Department of Languages, Cultural Studies and Performing Arts, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenepura and Sangeeth Nipun Peshala Manoj. The duo presented a mesmerizing play blended with their research based experiments adding more glamour to Nada 2016. This novel experience was able to place an everlasting memory in the minds of the entire audience.

This time also NADA facilitated a sound platform for the multitalented undergraduates of the University to showcase their aesthetic talents beyond the classroom education. The night of NADA 2016 was lightened with a proper blend of singing, dancing, drama and instrumental items performed by the students.

NADA 2016 successfully ended with cheerful faces enriched with melodies of sounds and memories of lovely moments marking yet another extravagant event in the University calendar.
