A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between the\u00a0Department of Accounting<\/a>,\u00a0Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce<\/a>\u00a0of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and the Hatton National Bank (HNB) on the 16th of August 2018 at the Vice Chancellor\u2019s Office. Prof. Sampath Amaratunge, Vice Chancellor of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Dr. Anura U Kumara, Dean of the\u00a0Faculty of Managment Studies and Commerce<\/a>, Dr. A. Harendra N. Kariyawasam,\u00a0Head of the Department of Accounting, academic members of the respective Department\u00a0and representatives from the Hatton National Bank participated in the MOU signing\u00a0event.<\/p>\n

The MoU that was initially signed for a period of three years, will provide internship opportunities\u00a0for the third and fourth-year students of the Department of Accounting. Further, HNB has focused on conducting introductory sessions annually for second-year students prior to the commencement of the internship, and workshops to develop the soft skills of students. While recourses of HNB will be available for the students of the Department of Accounting, Department will provide resource personnel to assist their academic and research pursuits.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
