The Department of Accounting at the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, proudly earned the title of 1st Runner-Up at the Magnate 2025 – Inter-University Debate Competition, organized by the Finance Students’ Association, Department of Finance, Faculty of Management and Finance, University of Colombo, on September 18th, 2025. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The team (USJ Team 3) comprised talented undergraduates from the Department of Accounting: Sarah Henricus, Vishwa Nirmal, Kavidini Tharushika, Thirani Munasinghe, and Rashmika Midipolawaththa. Additionally, another team, USJ Team 2, representing the Department of Accounting, advanced to the semi-final stage of the competition. USJ Team 2 consisted of Mehansa Jayasundara, Vojitha Herat, Chalani Kuruppu, and Pubuduni Guneratne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
