A. Weerasinghe, Senior Lecturer in Business Economics, University of Sri Jayewardenepura retired from his endeavor recently. He is the first Head of the Department of Business Economics and has held various positions giving his fullest contribution for the development of the faculty and university. Apart from that, he has immensely contributed to the national development as well. He is the present Vice Chancellor of National School of Business Management (NSBM) Green University and the former Director General of National Institute of Business Management (NIBM).<\/p>\n<p>In appreciating his contributions made towards the university and the nation, the Department of Business Economics organized a felicitation ceremony on the 16<sup>th<\/sup> November 2018 with the participation of Senior Prof. Sampath Amaratunge, Vice Chancellor, Dr. U. Anura Kumara, Dean of the faculty, Dr. Dinesha Siriwardhane, Head of the Department of Business Economics, Heads of the other departments along with academic staff members from the Department of
