Dr. Janaka Fernando<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Janaka Fernando assumed duties as the new head of the department from December 1, 2022, onward. Dr. Janaka received her first degree from the Department of Business Economics, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, and thereafter completed the postgraduate degrees of MEcon (Development Economics) from the University of Colombo and the Master of International Development Studies from the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS), Japan. In the year 2018, he earned his Ph.D. from Nagoya University, Japan. He has contributed to the department for more than 16 years and has published extensively in the field of economics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
