Employment trends have been changing over time due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and many other reasons. Sri Lanka, as a developing country, and due to several other factors, it is important to be aware of the changes happening in the labor market in the Asia-Pacific region. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To give a sound understanding in the labour market trends, the Department of Business Economics, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce organized a guest lecture on the topic of \u201cWorld Employment Trends (With Particular reference to Asia-Pacific)\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This lecture which was conducted by Dr. Miguel Sanchez Martinez (Economist) of the International Labour Organization, was successfully held on 27th<\/sup> November 2022 from 1.00 pm onwards. This expert session managed to open a productive discussion for the students to reflect upon and improve on their knowledge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This lecture was mainly conducted for the third-year undergraduates of the Departments of Business Economics and Human Resource Management as a part of the course BEC 3347: Labour Economics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
