The University of Sri Jayewardenepura’s Department of Business Economics convened the Inauguration Ceremony for the 5th Batch of Postgraduate Studies in Business Economics on April 6th, 2024, at the Senate Board Room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Janaka Fernando, Head of the Department of Business Economics, delivered the Welcome Speech, setting the tone for the event. Following this, a video address by Senior Prof. Sampath Amaratunge, Professor and Chair of the Department of Business Economics, and Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC), was screened, emphasizing the significance of academic rigor and innovation in the field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Anura Uthumange, a Postgraduate in Business Economics, shared insights from personal experiences, motivating the incoming students. Subsequently, Prof. Sumudu Perera introduced the MPhil in Business Economics program, outlining its objectives, while Dr. Dinesha Siriwardhane introduced the MBE and MSc in Business Economics Programs, highlighting their comprehensive nature and practical orientation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Champika Dhanapala, representing the Postgraduate Student Association and Senior Manager of SME Business Development at Seylan Bank PLC, delivered the Address and Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to all involved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Organized by the Department of Business Economics, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, the ceremony concluded, marking the beginning of a new academic journey for the students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
