This course is designed to provide a good foundation of quantitative methods by examining the fundamental statistical theory that drives common statistical procedures. This will provide participants with knowledge to analyse quantitative data using an appropriate software package. It will explore the nature of quantitative data, the relationship between quantitative analysis and theory building, and some of the major topics of statistical analysis. This course will help the researchers to carry out their research more effectively. In addition, the techniques that are taught in this programme are used in a number of research settings; non-profit organizations, for-profit research institutes, and local, state and national governmental agencies.

No prior use of statistical software applications is needed to follow this programme. However, given that the 21st millennium is here, it is assumed that students have a familiarity and comfortability with a computer.
