A ten day academic tour was made as a result of Academic and Scientific Collaboration (MoU) between the Zhejiang Shuren University, China and University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka from 10th<\/sup> July 2018. The team consisted of Mr. Mao Yanghao, Ms. Gao Xiaohong, (Faculty members) and student representatives of the Zhejiang Shuren University, China<\/strong>. The academic visit consisted of an institute visit to the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, followed by a country visit around Sri Lanka to inspire the beauty of Sri Lanka.<\/p>\n

The Chinese team was warmly welcomed by the Department of Entrepreneurship, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Sri Jayewardenepura to the institution proceeded by the\u00a0 inauguration ceremony held on 11th<\/sup> July 2018 at the Old Board Room of Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce<\/strong> with the participation of Prof. Sampath Amaratunge, the Vice Chancellor,<\/strong> University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Dr. U. Anura Kumara, Dean,<\/strong> Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, Mr. Rukmal Weerasinghe, Head,<\/strong> Department of Entrepreneurship, Prof. S. R. Samarasinghe<\/strong>, Department of Marketing Management, Prof. P. D. Nimal<\/strong>, Department of Finance, Dr. Janak Kumarasinghe<\/strong>, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Business Economics, academic staff and the students<\/strong> of\u00a0 Department of Entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n

The inauguration ceremony was proceeded by an \u2018Introductory Session about the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and Department of Entrepreneurship\u2019<\/strong> held by Mr.Rukmal Weerasinghe. Next, Dr. Janak Kumarasinghe delivered a lecture on \u2018China Sri Lanka Friendship\u2019<\/strong> after which the first day of the institution visit was concluded. The programme of the second day included awareness sessions on the \u2018Emerging Businesses Areas and Opportunities in Sri Lanka\u2019<\/strong>, the \u2018Experience of Sri Lankan Students in China\u2019<\/strong>,\u00a0 \u2018Hidden Tourism Opportunities in Sri Lanka\u2019<\/strong> by Mr.Vipula Jayasinghe, Senior Deputy Director (Promotion \u2013 China Desk Officer), Board of Investment, Sri Lanka, Dr. Kingsley Karunarathne (Senior Lecturer of Department of Accounting) and Mr. Aminda Lakmal (lecturer at Department of Marketing Management) respectively. .<\/p>\n

The third day of the university programme was reserved for field visits<\/strong> which were organized by the Department of Entrepreneurship to the Moon River Restaurant, Thimbirigasyaya and Chandanalepa, Sanjeewaka Ayurvedic Products (PVT) Ltd, Veyangoda<\/strong> which was coordinated by Mr. Rukmal Weerasinghe, Mr. Channa Gajanayake and Ms. Bimali Ranasinghe, lecturers of the Department of Entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n

Marking the conclusion of the institutional visit a glowing Certificate Awarding Ceremony and a Dinner Party<\/strong> was held at the Vinrich Lake Resort, Piliyandala with the participation of academic staff and students of the Department of Entrepreneurship and faculty and student representatives from the Zhejiang Shuren University China. This awarding ceremony was organized by the candidates reading for the Master of Entrepreneurship programme of the department.<\/p>\n
