With the outbreak of the prevailing pandemic, the official welcome\nand orientation of the second year students of the department was successfully\nheld on 30th December 2020, virtually via zoom platform. The objective of this\norientation programme was to provide an awareness about the department,\nparticularly on the history of the department, its philosophy, staff members,\nactivities organized by the department etc. to the newly admitted students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The occasion was graced with the valuable virtual presence and the\nthought provoking insights of Prof. P. D. Nimal, the dean of the Faculty of\nManagement Studies and Commerce, University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Dr. (Ms) P.\nA. N. S. Anuradha, Head, Department of Finance and other academic staff members\ngraced this occasion with their participation. After the Head of the department\nextended her warm welcome to the second year students of the department, Snr.\nProf. D. B. P. H. Dissa Bandara and Prof. Y. K. Weerakoon Banda addressed the\ngathering virtually by providing valuable inspirations to the new batch of\nsecond year students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aligning with the department\u2019s tradition of giving an opportunity to the most recently recruited academic member to address the newly joined students, Mr. Ruwanga Wijesooriya addressed the gathering and this was more effective as the presenter is an alumni member of the Department of Finance. Mr. Muditha Rajapaksha, President of the Students Association of Finance introduced the student body of the department and the activities organized by the association.<br> A very warm and spirited atmosphere prevailed throughout the program and it was a very blissful morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-gallery columns-3 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex
