{"id":2683,"date":"2021-04-01T09:46:46","date_gmt":"2021-04-01T04:16:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mgt.sjp.ac.lk\/fin\/?p=2683"},"modified":"2021-06-17T09:49:39","modified_gmt":"2021-06-17T04:19:39","slug":"jpura-wins-big-at-nestle-project-connect","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mgt.sjp.ac.lk\/fin\/jpura-wins-big-at-nestle-project-connect\/","title":{"rendered":"J\u2019pura wins big at Nestle \u2013 Project Connect"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>Team Twinkle<\/em> which\nrepresented the University of Sri Jayewardenepura emerged as the winners of <strong><em>Project\nConnect<\/em><\/strong>. Organized by Nestle Lanka PLC, <em>Project Connect<\/em> provided\na unique platform for disruptive new thinkers to come up with fresh and\ninnovative ideas and hence create a positive impact to Sri Lanka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The participants of the\ncompetition were assigned the task of either, innovating a new healthy, tasty\nand a nutritious product or pitching a sustainable solution for Nestle Lanka PLC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Out of 69 ideas presented by\n3-member teams of undergraduates from 5 Universities, <em>Team Twinkle<\/em>\nconsisting of; Vindula Perera, Ishanika Seneviratne and Tharushi Egodahewage,\nfrom the <strong>Department of Finance<\/strong> of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura\nemerged victorious. Team Twinkle pitched <strong>POWERGANIC<\/strong>, a coconut\nwater-based hypertonic (Isotonic + Revitalizer) as its unique idea. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All teams in the competition were\nassigned industry mentors (by Nestle Lanka PLC) for guidance. Team Twinkle was\nguided and mentored by Mr. Bandula Egodage, VP Corporate &amp; Regulatory\nAffairs at Nestl\u00e9 Lanka PLC. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Next, it is Team Nesleaf who made\nUniversity of Sri Jayewardenepura proud again by being the runners-up of the\nsame competition. The Team Nesleaf consisting of Mohamed Shakib from Department\nof Finance and Wageesh Rajapakshe &amp; Isuru Udayanga from Department of\nEntrepreneurship pitched the product idea to the judgers. The Team Nesleaf\u2019s idea\nwas to bring back the traditional <em>\u201cKola Kada\u201d<\/em> as <strong>NESLEAF <\/strong>in a\nrevolutionized way to the customers.
