The momentous event took place in the Senate Boardroom of the university, graced by esteemed guests from academia and industry. AFR stands as a distinguished, double-blind peer-reviewed scientific bi-annual journal committed to the dissemination of knowledge in Finance and related disciplines, showcasing high-quality research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">AFR provides a robust platform for scholars, researchers, and practitioners to contribute to the field of finance, encompassing a wide range of areas such as financial markets and institutions, fintech, banking, investment, economics, and business, among others. The journal serves as a catalyst for the exchange of innovative ideas and groundbreaking research within the finance community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The event witnessed the distinguished presence of Snr Prof. Sampath Amaratunge, Chairman of the University Grants Commission, who delivered an inspiring keynote speech. Dr. Dushan Jayawickrama, Dean of the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, also graced the occasion as the esteemed Guest of Honour. Editor in Chief of AFR, Prof. Champa Rajapakse, Head of the Department of Finance, Prof. Chandana Gunathilaka, the heads of other departments within the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, esteemed members of the Research Council of the University, the librarian of the University, academic staff members, and industry representatives joined the ceremony in person, underscoring the significance of the event. Concurrently, undergraduate and postgraduate students from the department and academics from other universities participated via Zoom, fostering an inclusive and collaborative atmosphere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The launch of the Asian Finance Review marks a significant milestone in the academic and research endeavors of the Department of Finance, epitomizing their commitment to advancing knowledge and fostering excellence in the field of finance. The journal is poised to make a substantial impact on the finance community by facilitating rigorous research and promoting insightful discourse that will shape the future of the
