The event brought together students, academics, and industry professionals to foster an investment culture and equip undergraduates with critical financial knowledge essential for navigating today\u2019s dynamic financial landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The program commenced with a thought-provoking debate between two teams representing the Department of Finance. The debate served as a platform to showcase the participants\u2019 analytical and critical thinking skills, setting an engaging and intellectual tone for the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following this, the event featured three insightful sessions conducted by distinguished industry experts:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Mr. Tushara Jayaratne<\/strong>, <em>Deputy Director General<\/em>, Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC),<br><em>\u201cImpact of Technology Transformation, Regulatory Changes in the Investment Environment, and the Role of Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) &amp; Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Mr. Dasun Perera<\/strong>, <em>Chief Executive Officer<\/em>, Senfin Securities Ltd.,<br><em>\u201cNavigating Post-Crisis Capital Markets: The Evolving Role of Stockbrokers in Sri Lanka\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Mr. Kavin Karunamoorthy<\/strong>, <em>Chief Executive Officer<\/em>, First Capital Asset Management Ltd.,<br><em>\u201cThe Strategic Role of Fund Managers in Sri Lanka: Insights into Unit Trusts and Emerging Investment Trends\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The event concluded with a CDS and Unit Trust account opening session, conducted with the support of Senfin Securities Ltd and First Capital Holdings PLC. This session provided students with a unique opportunity to take their first steps into the world of investments, offering practical exposure to financial markets and reinforcing the key concepts discussed throughout the day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>University Investment Day 2024<\/em> served as a pivotal platform for promoting financial literacy and fostering an investment culture among university undergraduates. The <em>Department of Finance<\/em> and the <em>Students\u2019 Association of Finance<\/em> remain steadfast in their commitment to empowering students with the knowledge and tools needed to make
