The Department of Finance, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, together with the Students\u2019 Association of Finance, proudly hosted the Grand Finale of Value Masters 2025 <\/strong>on 22nd September 2025 <\/strong>at the University premises. The event was organized in collaboration with the CFA Society Sri Lanka <\/strong>and Acuity Knowledge Partners<\/strong>, marking yet another milestone in Sri Lanka\u2019s premier inter-university equity valuation competition.
This year\u2019s competition brought together the brightest minds from universities across the island to present comprehensive equity valuations of Netflix Inc. <\/strong>before a distinguished panel of industry leaders and academics. After an intense final round, Team ValueMinds <\/strong>from the School of Accounting and Business (SAB) \u2013 CA Sri Lanka <\/strong>was crowned the champion<\/strong>, lifting the prestigious Grand Trophy. They were followed by FEValuers <\/strong>and ValuSmiths <\/strong>from the University of Kelaniya<\/strong>, who secured the first and second runner-up positions, respectively. Equiminds <\/strong>from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and Volkno <\/strong>from the University of Wayamba also showcased their talent, completing the top five teams.
The event was graced by eminent personalities including Senior Professor Pathmalal M. Manage<\/strong>, Vice Chancellor of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, who delivered the Chief Guest\u2019s address, and Senior Professor D.B.P.H. Dissabandara<\/strong>, Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka, as Guest of Honour. Their insights highlighted the importance of academic-industry collaborations and the critical role of equity valuation in capital market development.
Delivering the welcome remarks, Dr. Neelangie Nanayakkara<\/strong>, Head of the Department of Finance, emphasized the significance of Value Masters as a platform that unites learning, application, and innovation. Ms. Rashmi Peiris Paranavitane<\/strong>, President of CFA Society Sri Lanka, also addressed the gathering, underscoring the importance of ethics and analytical discipline in the finance profession.
The finale was attended by Professor D.N. Samudrage<\/strong>, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, along with senior academics, alumni, industry experts, and students. Concluding the event, Mr. Rusiru Nissanka<\/strong>, President of the Students\u2019 Association of Finance, delivered the Vote of Thanks, extending gratitude to all partners, sponsors, and the organizing committee for their unwavering support.
Value Masters 2025 <\/strong>once again stood out as a national benchmark in applied finance education, grooming the next generation of finance leaders to be both competent analysts and principled professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
