A special discussion on the Business Information Systems Student Symposiums (BISSS) organized by the Department of Information Technology (DIT) was held on the 6th of November 2021 via zoom with the participation of the undergraduates, academic staff members and the alumni members of the DIT. The event was held with the main objectives of:
\n\u2022 Appreciating the winners of BISSS 2020 and BISSS 2021
\n\u2022 Sharing the learning experiences gained from BISSS 2020 and BISSS 2021
\n\u2022 Making students aware of the plan for BISSS 2022 and
\n\u2022 Providing an opportunity for the DIT students to engage in a casual conversation with the DIT alumni members
\nThe Chair of BISSS 2020 and Head of the Department, Dr. W Mahesh N. Fernando, the Chair of BISSS 2021, Mr. Nilantha Prasad, and the Chair of BISSS 2022, Mrs. L.D.C.S. Subhahsini addressed the gathering. The experience sharing session by the winners of BISSS 2020 and 2021 was both inspiring and encouraging for the third and fourth year students expecting to submit their work in the future symposiums .
\nBISSS is an annual student symposium conducted by the DIT to provide an opportunity for the undergraduates to showcase the outcomes of their Independent Research Study and the Application Development Project undertaken as core components in their Degree Programme.
\nThe event concluded with a fruitful discussion administered by the DIT alumni members on their own academic and professional journeys, with promising aspirations for the undergraduates of the Department.<\/p>\n
