The third workshop under the \u201cDigital SME\u201d community service project series was held on the 21st<\/sup> of July with the participation of small and medium enterprise owners and the academic staff of the Department of Information Technology. The third workshop was themed \u201cCreating a website for your business: from idea to action\u201d. <\/strong>The contents of the workshop encompassed spreading awareness on domain name registration and a practical tutorial on creating an e-commerce website using an open source business management application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The key resource persons of the workshop were Prof. Lasith Gunawardene and Mr. Ranil Peiris, two senior lecturers from the Department of Information Technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The programme was well received by the audience and the Department Community Services Team looks forward to organizing a fourth and final workshop to generate awareness regarding google tools helpful to improve the productivity of the business.
