The Business Information Systems Student Symposiums (BISSS) organized by the Department of Information Technology was held at the Faculty Board Room on the 21st of September 2023 with the virtual participation of the Dean of the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, Head of the departments, academic staff members of the Department, invitees from the corporate sector, current undergraduates, and the passed-out graduates of the Department. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Chief Guest and the Plenary speaker of the symposium was Mr. Jehan Perinpanayagam, CEO of Infomate Pvt Ltd, Chairman SLASSCOM and Chairman ACCA member network panel ACCA Sri Lanka. The Keynote speaker of the session was Dr. Dakshi Kapugama, Principal Business Intelligence Officer \u2013 Insights and Digital, Department of Energy and Public Works, Queensland Government Australia. The best research award was awarded to Ms. Sandali Jayakody for the research titled,\u201d Factors affecting the Intention to Adopt Non-Fungible Tokens with Special Reference to the Creative Digital Artists in Sri Lanka\u201d. The best project award was awarded to Mr. S.P. Pasindu Gayashan and Ms. W.R.S. Jayawardhana for the project titled \u201cSustainable Social Commerce System\u201d. This event was chaired by Dr. Shashikala Subhashini while Mrs. Thamali Chandrasiri and Ms. Kaveesha Silva acted as the Co-secretaries of Business Information Systems Student Symposiums (BISSS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
