The second-year students of the Department of Information Technology visited LSEG Technology – a leading financial technology company in Malabe, Sri Lanka. recently. The visit, which was split into two groups was carried out on On 12th and 26th of October 2023<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The visit was organized as a part of their ITC2176: Personality and Skill Development (PSD2) course, which aimed to expose students to real-world applications of their studies. During the visit, students attended sessions on IT project management, software engineering, DevOps, and software quality assurance. The sessions were conducted by experienced resource persons from LSEG Technology, and students had the opportunity to learn about the latest trends and best practices in the IT industry. They also gained practical exposure to the different tools and technologies that are used in the development and delivery of IT products and services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Department extends its gratitude to LSEG Technology for hosting our students and for providing them with an opportunity to experience LSEG’s employee-friendly work culture. We are confident that our students will benefit from this experience for many years to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This field visit was coordinated by Ms. Lakshana Assalaarachchi on behalf of the department, and Mr. Reshan Warnakulasuriya, Assistant Manager – Talent Acquisition & Resourcing on behalf of LSEG. It was initiated with the kind assistance of Mr. Chamara Hatharasinghe, Manager of Application System Development at LSEG – a former alumnus of the Department of IT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
