Tharindu Fernando, a 3rd-year student from the Department of Information Technology (DIT), Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, has won the Best Startup Award (Central Province) at the prestigious SLASSCOM National Ingenuity Awards 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The SLASSCOM National Ingenuity Awards recognize outstanding achievements in the Sri Lankan IT industry.This recognition is for his innovative startup, \u201cIdeaCipher\u201d, a company he registered in his second year. IdeaCipher has a number of revenue-generating mobile apps each with over 100,000 downloads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tharindu\u2019s achievement highlights the Department of Information Technology\u2019s as well as Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce\u2019s commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship among its students. The Bachelor of Business Information Systems program equips students with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in the field of information technology, and Fernando’s success is a testament to the program’s effectiveness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
