We are proud to announce a remarkable achievement by three undergraduate students from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, who have successfully launched an innovative digital platform designed to simplify tax filing in Sri Lanka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Developed by Pasindu Kapugama, Amish Nethum, and Ashen Gunaratne, Durokey<\/strong> is a smart, user-friendly digital system that enables individuals and small businesses to generate accurate tax estimates and file returns online in just minutes, reducing paperwork, saving time, and eliminating the need for complex manual calculations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The platform was officially launched on 3 November 2025 at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, in the presence of the Dean of the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, Dr. Dushan Jayawickrama, together with members of the Management Faculty. The launch highlighted the strength of student innovation and the university\u2019s role in nurturing industry-ready, socially impactful solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adding to this achievement, Durokey has gained national recognition, being featured in the Education Today<\/em> newspaper on Sunday, 14 December 2025, a testament to the relevance and real-world impact of this student-led initiative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Looking ahead, the student team plans to expand the platform with advanced features to support small businesses in managing their finances and operations more efficiently, further contributing to Sri Lanka\u2019s digital and entrepreneurial ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This achievement reflects the Department\u2019s commitment to empowering students to transform knowledge into practical, technology-driven solutions that serve society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
