<\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\nThe team Mr. Lakindu Induwara, Ms. Ruveena Gamage, and Mr. Oshadha Canchana, earned this remarkable opportunity after securing an impressive 5th place globally in the preliminary round, positioning themselves among the top-performing teams worldwide. This achievement qualified them to compete in the Global Finals, which took place on 3rd April 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the final stage of the competition, the team delivered an outstanding performance, emerging victorious in the Lex Fantastic Stage<\/em> (debate round) against the team from Georgia. Ultimately, they secured an admirable 4th place overall, further highlighting their excellence on the global stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The team received a full travel scholarship to participate in the event, while visa-related expenses were supported by the Faculty Development Fund of the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Sri Jayewardenepura.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The students were mentored by Dr. Thusitha Abeysekera, Head of the Legal Studies Unit, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce. They were further supported by Mr. Kalindu Darmappriya, Temporary Assistant Lecturer at the Legal Studies Unit. During the initial stages of the competition, the team also benefited from the valuable guidance of Ms. Upeksha Samarasinghe from the Department of Information Technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This achievement reflects the academic excellence, dedication, and global competitiveness of BIS undergraduates and brings pride to the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and Sri Lanka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
