Marketing Management (Special) Degree, University of Sri Jayewardenepura"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Department of Marketing Management was able to win a competitive World Bank Grant<br \/>\ncalled AHEAD ELTA\/ELSE which worth of Rs.15 million. The agreement of the same was<br \/>\nsigned on 18 th Nov 2019 at the University, with the participation of the Vice Chancellor of the<br \/>\nUniversity &#8211; Senior Prof. Sampath Amarathunga, Director of the World Bank Project of the<br \/>\nUniversity \u2013 Dr. Kalum Gamage, Head of the Department \u2013 Prof. (Mrs) Amila Jayarathne,<br \/>\nCoordinator of the Project \u2013 Dr. (Mrs) Asoka Malkanthie and the lecturers of the Department.<br \/>\nThe World Bank in collaboration with the Government of Sri Lanka support the higher education<br \/>\nsector through a bank funded Accelerating Higher Education Expansion and Development<br \/>\n(AHEAD) operation in Sri Lanka for the development of the higher education sector which is of<br \/>\ncentral importance to enable Sri Lanka to make the transition from a Lower-Middle Income<br \/>\nCountry (LMIC) to an Upper Middle-Income Country (UMIC).<br \/>\nThe AHEAD operates under three results areas (1). Increasing Enrollment in Priority Disciplines<br \/>\nfor Economic Development, (2) Improving the Quality of Higher Education, and (3) Promoting<br \/>\nResearch, Development and Innovation; and this grant benefits the students of the Department of<br \/>\nMarketing Management in five avenues, namely, (a) Developing an innovative learning and<br \/>\nteaching environment, (b) Enhancing the academic industry exposure, (c) Approaching the<br \/>\nundergraduate capacity development, (d) Introducing carrier oriented course units and (e)<br \/>\nEnhancing the students\u2019 proficiency in English Language.<a href=\"https:\/\/mgt.sjp.ac.lk\/mar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/AHEAD.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-1018\" src=\"https:\/\/mgt.sjp.ac.lk\/mar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/AHEAD-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mgt.sjp.ac.lk\/mar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/AHEAD-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/mgt.sjp.ac.lk\/mar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/AHEAD-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/mgt.sjp.ac.lk\/mar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/AHEAD.jpg 921w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Department of Marketing Management was able to win a competitive World Bank Grant called AHEAD ELTA\/ELSE which worth of Rs.15 million.
