The Department of Marketing Management being one of the leading and innovative
\ndepartments in the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce of the University of Sri
\nJayewardenepura, launches a new venture by establishing a Business Incubator Center,
\nDigitalized Library and a Language Center. All these centres are funded the World Bank
\nELTA\/ELSE project which was a competitive grant won by the Department of Marketing
\nManagement.
\nA Business Incubator Center provides a Model Business which is a platform for undergraduates
\nto practice theories learned in the classroom in a real business context. The profit of the
\nbusiness will be used for students\u2019 co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. The Digitalized
\nLibrary and the Language Center brings undergraduates one step closer to the digitalized
\nlearning including enhancing English Language Skills and it acts as a knowledge hub where
\nundergraduates can make use of the resources productively to learn and explore things related
\nto the academic activities. The Digitalized Library and the Language Center is in a full air-
\nconditioned space that provides students a comfortable ambiance and is equipped with fifteen
\ndesktop computers, while providing access to e- books\/resources, contemporary software
\nneeded for modern marketing context, softcopies of the outstanding research thesis, and for
\nmany more self-learning facilities.
\nThe opening ceremony of the Business Incubator Center, Digitalized Library and a Language
\nCenter was held on 20 th Thursday 2020. The event was graced by Dr. Kalum Gamage – Director
\nof AHEAD project of the University, Prof. Amila Jayarathne – Head of the Department, Ass. Prof.
\nAsoka Malkanthie – Coordinator of the Project, Mr. Aminda Lakmal, Mr. Harsha Tissera- Activity
\nCoordinators, and the academic staff of the Department, office bearers of the Marketing
\nManagement Association which is the official student body of the Department, and the
\nstudents of the Department. The students are committed to make the best use of the property<\/p>\n

and this will surely add an uncountable value to the Department and the future generation to
\ncome.<\/p>\n
