Dr. Mufeeda Irshad, Business Communication Unit - Visited the University of Essex, the United Kingdom as an invited International Visiting Fellow

Dr. Mufeeda Irshad, Business Communication Unit, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, visited the University of Essex, the United Kingdom as an invited International Visiting Fellow in November 2018. She was hosted by the Department of Language and Linguistics of the University of Essex.

During her stay, she attended a workshop on “Forgetting your native language: consequences to career prospects” at London, Birkbeck, University of London, gave a talk at the Department of Language and Linguistics Seminar Series on “The Impact of Individual Learner Motivation on Group Activities that use Google Docs for Simultaneous Collaborative Writing”, and had several discussions with Professor Monika Schmidt and Dr. Christina Gkonou on ways in which the University of Essex could contribute to the sustainable and inclusive prosperity of Sri Lankans. As a first step, Professor Schmidt and Dr. Gkonou have applied for Global Challenges Research Funding (GCRF) to undertake a collaborative research project with Dr. Irshad as an external partner.
