Guidelines for Authors
The Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce (FMSC) at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura (USJP), Sri Lanka publishes the Vidyodaya Jornal of Management (VJM) bi-annually. It is a double blind peer reviewd journal, aimed at diseminating new knowledge among academics, professionals and reseachers. It comprices with high quality research papers in the areas of business management and related multidiciplinary studies.
Articles submitted to the Journal should not have been published before or be in the process of under review in another journal. The copyright of articles, review articles and book reviews published in VJM is reserved for the VJM. However, authors can obtain permission, in advance, from the Co-editors to reprint / reproduce the whole or a part of the paper published in VJM.
Each paper is sent to two reviewers in the relevant expertise for a double-blind peer review. Based on the recommendations of the reviewers, the Editorial Board of the Journal will decide whether the paper should be accepted as it is, should be revised or rejected.
Submission to this journal can be done online that you are guided stepwise through the process to uploading of your files. The system automatically converts source files to a single PDF file of the article, which is used in the peer-review process.
Additionally a softcopy of the paper (MS Word) can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org while providing the information on 1. Title of the article / review paper / book review (not more than 10 words), 2. brief autobiographical note of each author including full name, affiliations, address for correspondence, telephone and fax numbers, e-mail addresses, and acknowledgement (if any) in a separate paper. In the case of multiple authors, one author should be identified as the corresponding author.
The article / paper should include the following: Title of paper (not more than 10 words), Abstract, Text of the article / paper, and a complete list of references. The first page needs to be the title page which should include title of the study, author name/s with affiliations and contact details (telephone numbers and email addresses). The purpose, research methods and design, findings, conclusions, implications (if any), recommendations (if any), significance of the study should be included to the abstract. The abstract should limit to 300 words with maximum of five key words. The body of the paper should incorporate with major sections such as introduction, literature review, methodology, findings, discussion, limitations and future research directions etc. These general criteria can vary with the nature of the article (article, review paper,book review).
The acceptable language is English. Authors need to ensure a high accuracy of language.
General formatting guidelines:
Word count: articles should not normally be less than 4000 words and not more than 8000 words inclusive of footnotes but excluding references. Review articles and book reviews should not be more than 3000 words. The author(s) should be anonymous in the article.
