AMA DHAARA- DHAMMA DISCUSSION
To invoke blessings to the members of the university community at the dawning of the new year, the Department of Public Administration and the Association of Public Administration jointly organized a dhamma discussion, “AMA DHAARA” on the 1st of January 2026, from 6.00 p.m. onwards, at the Buddha shrine premises of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. The Dhamma discussion was conducted by the venerable Homagama Nagitha Thero of Pokunuwita monastery, and it was moderated by Mr. Harshana Hiripitiya, Lecturer of the Department of Public Administration.
The program provided a serene and reflective environment in which students actively engaged by raising practical questions related to their academic life, personal challenges, and future aspirations. These questions were discussed and addressed through a Buddhist perspective, emphasizing discipline, compassion, ethical conduct, mental resilience, and balance in both academic and personal life. The event was attended by the students from all four undergraduate batches, along with lecturers from the Department of Public Administration. “AMA DHAARA” event successfully fostered spiritual awareness, unity, and a sense of collective responsibility within the department, reflecting the commitment of both the Department of Public Administration and the Association of Public Administration to the holistic development of their students.
