The 33rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) and the Get-Together of the Alumni Association of Public Administration, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, was convened on 28 December 2025 at the Ariyana Reach Hotel, Maharagama. The event united graduates from diverse batches representing a distinguished cross-section of the association’s membership, including professionals from leading national institutions and corporate sector, academics and recently passed out graduates, underscoring the enduring nexus between the alma mater and its graduates. The former head of the Department Mr. W.G.T.S. Senanayake (outgoing president) officially welcomed the members and reported the last year progress to the audience and handed over the duties to the new president of the Association (current head of the Department) Prof. L. A. Pavithra Maduwanthi. Following the proceedings, a new executive committee was appointed, nominating Ms.W.K.C.S. Walpola as the secretary, Mr. H.H. Madubhasha as the treasurer, and Prof. Harendra Kariyawasam as the auditor of the Association.

Upon concluding the formal agenda of the AGM, the meeting announces awarding of two gold medals for recently passed out graduates.  The “Professor Ariyapala Ekanayaka Memorial Gold Medal” was awarded to Mr. Dulshan Weerasinghe for excellence achievement in both the academic and extra-curricular activities and the “Dr. U.B. Ramanayake Gold Medal” was conferred upon Ms. M.A.I.A.B. Dhanushika Kumari for the highest performance in Sociology and Psychology subject in the B.Sc. Management (Public) (Special) degree programme.

A new segment was added to this year event by initiating an expert discussion on “How Sri Lanka’s economy should be re-built after the Cyclone Ditwah”, which was featured by W.A. Wijewardene (former deputy governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka) and Prof. Aminda Methsila (Wayamba University) and moderated by Mr. Harshana Madhubasha (Department of Public Administration). Thereafter, members partook in a cordial luncheon that fostered collegial dialogue and professional networking.
