First-Year Orientation Program of the BSc Honours in Management and PublicPolicyDegree Program

The Department of Public Administration successfully conducted the Orientation Program for First-Year Undergraduates on 21st January 2026, at the Faculty New Boardroom. The program commenced with a welcome address delivered by Prof. L. A. Pavithra Madhuwanthi, Head of the Department of Public Administration, who warmly welcomed the new entrants and highlighted the academic culture, expectations, and available career opportunities for the students. The orientation program was also graced by Prof. Dushan Jayawickrama, Dean of the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce. The event was further enriched by the presence of the Guest Speaker, Dr. Chani Imbulgoda, Registrar of the University of the Visual and Performing Arts. Her insightful address provided valuable perspectives and inspiration to the new undergraduates.

Following the orientation session, the Department organized a mentoring program for the fresh undergraduates with the participation of lecturers, senior students and recently graduated alumni of the Department. Through the sharing of such academic and professional experiences, this initiative aimed to familiarize fresh undergraduates with university life, provide guidance and encouragement, and foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment within the Department.
