A Two-Day Field Visit to Galle, Maththala – Katharagama
A two-day field visit was organized for the 3rd year undergraduates of the Department of Public Administration on the 20th and 21st of September 2023.
On the 1st day, the students were able to observe the role performed by the Entrepreneurial Councils and Entrepreneurial Associations within the Galle District and the current progress of the Samurdhi and Aswesuma programs (welfare policies of the government).
Several discussions were conducted with selected 20 entrepreneurs in Hikkaduwaduwa and Wanduramba areas in the Galle District. At the same time, a survey was conducted with the selected Samurdhi and Aswesuma beneficiaries in the Kadawathsathara and Bope- Bope-Poddhala divisions. On the first day, all the activities were coordinated and facilitated by the District Secretary of the Galle District.
On the second day, several discussions were carried out in the Katharagama Division with the selected entrepreneurs and Samurdhi and Aswesuma beneficiaries. Students visited the Maththala International Airport during the latter part of the field trip.
