Lohitha Pooja 2026 – Annual Blood Donation Campaign

The Association of Public Administration, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, successfully organized “Lohitha Pooja 2026”, its annual blood donation campaign, on 01 July 2026 at the  Faculty Old Boardroom, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce. This blood donation campaign is one of the key Corporate Social Responsibility programs of the Association. It encourages people to donate blood voluntarily and helps to maintain an adequate blood supply for patients in need.

This programme was conducted from 9.00 a.m.to 3.00 p.m. in collaboration with Narahenpita Blood Centre, with the dedicated support of its doctors, nurses, and supporting staff. The campaign received an encouraging response, with 109 individuals registered to donate blood, and more than 80 successfully donated. The donors included academic staff, non-academic staff, and students of the University, reflecting the strong humanitarian spirit shared across the university community. 

Concluding the Lohitha Pooja 2026, it was reaffirmed that the Association remains dedicated to serving the community. Indeed, every drop of blood donated means a lot of hope, and with this campaign, our association proved yet again that one small act of kindness makes a difference in the lives of others.
