“Saubhagya” Entrepreneurship Development Intervention
Department of Entrepreneurship, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Sri Jayewardenepura in keeping with its role as the country’s National Centre for Entrepreneurship has successfully spearheaded a series of programs under its “Saubhagya” program in its continuing endeavor to facilitate practicing entrepreneurs with supportive services and expand their knowledge in order to reach the highest echelon in the business world. Department of Entrepreneurship will continuously conduct seminars and training workshops in order to maintain a close relationship with the entrepreneurs who registered for this program.
Further, in parallel to the workshop series, “Saubhgya Business Club” was also initiated and participants were got the opportunity to get registered with the club. Saubhgya Business Club was initiated with the purpose of establishing the largest business network in Sri Lanka.This platform consists with a resource pool and member’s pool in order to share knowledge, experience, expertiseadvices,new business opportunities and other business development support services and required facilities for entrepreneurs.
The first workshop was conducted by two renowned lecturers proficient in the subject, namely Mr. M.V.V.S Udayanga and Mr. ChannaGajanayaka on 19th October 2015 from 9.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. at the Professor Munasinghe Auditorium. A large number practicing entrepreneurs in the nearby area of the university and future entrepreneurs of Youth Center of Maharagama were participated in the first workshop.
This can be recognized as the first national level entrepreneurship development intervention program conducted by a Sri Lankan University. Lecturer Mr. Gajanayaka coordinates this program together with the 03rd year and 02nd year students of the Department of Entrepreneurship.
