Business Planning 101: A Step-by-Step Workshop for Aspiring Entrepreneurs #GEW2023

With the entrepreneurial spirit soaring high during the Global Entrepreneurship Week 2023 the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CEFENI) in partnership with the Chamber of Small and Medium Enterprises, conducted a workshop titled ‘Business Planning 101’ on the 16th of November 2023. The workshop was supported by the SECRA project funded by the European Union.
GEW2023 is an initiative hosted in Sri Lanka by the Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) which includes a series of events illuminating the path for future business leaders and aspiring entrepreneurs.
The workshop aimed to equip budding entrepreneurs with the critical skills necessary to craft a comprehensive business plan, a foundational step for any successful venture.
Mr. Dhanuka Perera, Chairman of CEFENI and a lecturer attached to the Department of Entrepreneurship at University of Sri Jayewardenepura, served as the resource person for the event. Mr. Perera, who has wide expertise in startups, is also the co-founder of Codexea, shared his expertise on how to structure a business plan effectively. The interactive workshop covered a range of topics, from market analysis and competitive strategy to financial projections and funding strategies.
The success of this workshop underscores the commitment of CEFENI, the Chamber of Small and Medium Enterprises at USJ to nurture and support the entrepreneurial ecosystem. This event is a testament to the collaborative effort to build a robust platform for entrepreneurial success, reinforcing the vision of a vibrant and dynamic business community.
