The inauguration ceremony and the orientation programme of Certificate, Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Entrepreneurial Business Management Programs 2018/2019- SMEDSU
The inauguration ceremony of Certificate, Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Entrepreneurial Business Programs 2018/2019 conducted by the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Support Unit of Department of Entrepreneurship, University of Sri Jayewardenepura was successfully held on Sunday, 25th March 2018 from 9.00 a.m. onwards at The National Institute of Education, Maharagama.
Anura Kumara, Dean, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, Mr. Rukmal Weerasinghe, Prof. Rohini Samarasinghe, Dr. Hilary Silva,Dr. M.D Pushpakumari, Mr. P.H.A.B Shantha, Mr. Dilan Rathnayaka, Mr. Shyaman Udayanga, and Lecturers of the academic staff of the Department of Entrepreneurship, the non-academic staff of the Department, and the new students, as well as students from the previous batches of CEBM, DEBM and ADEBM programs participated in this event.
Mr. A.M.R. K Attanayaka, Former Director, Regional Development Department, Central Bank of Sri Lanka delivered the keynote speech. Further, Mr. Chathuranga Kariyawasam, Director- Roots (Pvt) Ltd and a former student of SMEDSU, shared his experiences with the new students.
Mr. R.N Weerasinghe, head- Department of Entrepreneurship delivered the welcome speech. Mr. Shyaman Udayanga, former head- Department of Entrepreneurship delivered an inspiring speech to the new students while stressing the importance of an entrepreneur to an economy. Dr. U Anura Kumara, Dean- FMSC also addredded the gathering. Mr. Channa Gajanayaka, Coordinator of the SMEDSU gave the vote of thanks.
The orientation program was conducted by Mr. Channa Gajanayaka.
