Vesak Dansala 2025: A Popcorn-Filled Act of Kindness by Second-Year Students

The spirit of Vesak was celebrated with generosity and unity as the second-year undergraduates of the Department of Entrepreneurship, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, organized their annual Vesak Dansala on the 13th of May 2025. In keeping with tradition, this year’s event took the creative form of a Popcorn Dansala, delighting all those who visited with a warm gesture of sharing.

The Dansala, held near the university premises, was entirely organized and managed by the students, showcasing not only their teamwork and organizational skills but also their deep commitment to community engagement and social values. Hundreds of individuals, students, staff, and passers-by gathered to enjoy a simple yet heartfelt treat that brought smiles and sparked conversation about the deeper meaning of Vesak.

The Popcorn Dansala is more than just a celebration; it is a reflection of the department’s ethos of nurturing socially responsible entrepreneurs. By organizing this event, the students demonstrated the importance of compassion, humility, and service, values that are central to the entrepreneurial spirit cultivated within the Department of Entrepreneurship.

The event received wide appreciation across the faculty and was yet another reminder of how small acts of kindness can contribute to a larger sense of community and shared humanity.
