
‘4th UNESCO-APEID Meeting on Entrepreneurship Education: A Supportive Ecosystem for Entrepreneurship Education’
Mr. RukmalWeerasinghe, Head and Senior Lecturer, Department of Entrepreneurship participated (as a one of the UGC nominees) for the ‘4th UNESCO-APEID Meeting on Entrepreneurship Education: A Supportive Ecosystem for Entrepreneurship Education’ which was held from 12 to 14 October 2015 in Bangkok, Thailand. This meeting and workshop series was organized by UNESCO Asia and Pacific Regional Bureau for Education, Bangkok, Thailand with the objectives of;
- Presenting preliminary findings of the research study on a supportive ecosystem for entrepreneurship education in selected countries in Asia
- Conducting mini-workshops on selected topics, e.g., mentoring, social entrepreneurship, women entrepreneurship.
- Discussing plans and follow-up activities for EE-Net.
- Strengthening networking and collaboration among EE-Net members
This was a great opportunity to share experiences and learn new practices on Entrepreneurship Education from the countries in Asian Region. Representatives from Japan, South Korea, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippine, India and Pakistan presented their country reports based on the research activities of entrepreneurship education in respective countries. Further, representatives from Bhutan and Cambodia also participated to the event. There was a chance to build up effective collaborations and this event urged to rethink about entrepreneurship education in Sri Lanka at the national level through a systematic approach.
