Save the Earth, Make it Green” – Tree Plantation Program Phase 1 which was organized by CEFEN Students’ Association of the Department of Entrepreneurship was successfully held on the 10th of April from 8.00 a.m. onwards at the university premises in par with celebrating Earth Day.
The program was aimed at improving the greenery within the university and nurturing the students’ awareness about nature. In order to make our tree plantation program successful, Senior Prof. Sudantha Liyanage, the Vice-Chancellor and Prof. P. D. Nimal, Dean of the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, Dr Shyaman Udayanga, Head of the Entrepreneurship Department and Ms Michelle Dilhara who is a well-known public figure, the Earth Day National Ambassador of Sri Lanka have joined hands with the Tree Plantation Program.
Since we are planning to widen the scope of this project by carrying out tree planting projects at the highways and other public places, with the objective of obtaining necessary public attraction for tree plantation. Therefore, we hope to do our Tree Plantation Program Phase 2 in the near future once the current situation of the country subsides.
