The Computer Society of Sri Lanka Student Membership provided to BIS Students

The Computer Society of Sri Lanka (CSSL), Sri Lanka’s largest membership of computing professionals conducted a awareness session and membership drive for students and staff of the Department of IT on 29th November 2018.
The student membership of the CSSL was offered free of charge to all 3rd and 4th year students of the Department under this programme. The session commenced with a introduction to the CSSL, and an overview of the Sri Lanka IT industry by CSSL President – Mr. Yasas V. Abeywickrama. Prof. Samantha Thelijjagoda, Student Counselor, CSSL and Mr. Heshan Karunaratne, Council Member at CSSL also spoke to the attendees.
The event was attended by students from all four years of the BIS programme. The event was coordinated by Dr, K.S. Lasith Gunawardena on behalf of the department.
