Entry Qualifications for MSc in Applied Finance (SLQF 10)

  • A bachelor’s degree (SLQF 5/SLQF 6) with a first-class or second-class upper/lower division pass in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Commerce, Management, or relevant discipline from a recognized university or degree-awarding institute.
  • A bachelor’s degree (SLQF 5/SLQF 6) from a recognized university or degree-awarding institution, along with prior learning in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Commerce, Management, or the relevant discipline or two years of post-qualification experience in an executive capacity in the Finance sector. 
  • A qualification consistent with SLQF 6 or above in the Finance, Economics, Accounting, Commerce, Management, or the relevant discipline from a recognized university, degree-awarding institute, or professional institute.
  • A qualification (passed finalist) from a professional institute equivalent to SLQF 6 or above from a recognized professional institute, along with prior learning in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Commerce, Management, or the relevant discipline or two years of experience in an executive capacity in the Finance sector or. 
  • Completion of NVQ Level 7 with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a scale of 0-4, as determined by the BOSBS of the FMSC.
  • Higher National Diploma in Accountancy (HNDA)/ Higher National Diploma in Management (HNDM)/ Higher National Diploma in Commerce (HNDC) (4-year course) offered by Sri Lanka Institute of Advanced Technological Education with one year of relevant experience.
  • Any other qualification accepted by the Senate of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura
