Department of Finance work together with Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC) which is the regulatory authority of the securities market in Sri Lanka. The Financial Services Academy is the education, training and research arm of the SEC which is committed towards capital market development through investor education and creation of awareness in the capital market amongst the Sri Lankan public.
SEC awards the student who obtains the highest average marks for the capital market related subjects in the B.Sc. Honours in Finance degree programme securing a First class or a Second class (upper division) pass at the annual convocation of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. The collaboration of SEC supports the achievement of broad educational goals of the Department of Finance.
