The journey to victory commenced on November 14th at Kelaniya University’s S2 Hall, with the preliminary round. Competing against the best of the best, the teams faced a battery of questions spanning various aspects of finance. These questions ranged from the intricacies of Capital Market theories, International Business, Local Business, and the broader economic landscape. To add a unique twist, the competition even included logo-related inquiries. In this round, the University of Sri Jayewardenepura’s team, alongside the University of Kelaniya and American National College, advanced to the second stage, having achieved the highest scores. This marked a significant milestone in their journey toward securing the championship.
The Thrilling Final Round
On November 25th, 2023, at Dharmaloka Main Hall at the University of Kelaniya, the climactic final round took place. The questions were nothing short of intense, and the tension in the room was palpable. As the round unfolded, the University of Sri Jayewardenepura’s team and their counterparts from American National College found themselves locked in a tie. To break this deadlock, a special bonus round was conducted. In this decisive moment, the University of Sri Jayewardenepura’s team showcased their unwavering expertise and composure, achieving a perfect score of 100%. In contrast, their competitors from American National College secured 50%, ultimately leading to the University of Sri Jayewardenepura’s triumph in the 10th Inter-University Finance Quiz Competition.
